Step by Step Instructions

  1. The Simply Art® Tag Shaped Panels will form the front and back of the house. On each side of the house, glue three craft sticks horizontally between the two panels to form the basis for the side walls.
  2. Form the platform for the roof by gluing three equally spaced craft sticks horizontally between the front and back panels on each side of the house; with one craft stick at the top of the roof line, one craft stick int the middle, and one craft stick where the roof meets the side wall.
  3. Glue six jumbo craft sticks vertically on each side wall and seven jumbo craft sticks vertically on the front and back panels, then trim about 1” from the end of the wall’s jumbo craft sticks.
  4. On the front and back panels, create scalloped siding by gluing a row of regular craft sticks on top of the row of jumbo craft sticks, starting about 1” from the bottom of the wall. Repeat the siding step by gluing this second row of jumbo craft sticks over the regular sticks on the front and back panels, revealing about one inch of the row below it.
  5. Continue to alternate regular and jumbo craft sticks up the front and back walls.
  6. Glue six jumbo craft sticks to the roof platform on each side of the house, leaving about an inch of overhang at the bottom of the roof.
  7. Create roof shingles by gluing a row of regular craft sticks on top of the row of jumbo craft sticks, starting about one inch from the bottom of the roof. Continue to alternate regular and jumbo craft sticks up the roof to create shingles, creating as many rows as needed to cover the roof. When the roof construction is compete, glue two regular craft sticks to the roof line on the front and back of the house to create a border. Glue a regular craft stick down the center of the roof line to close up any gap at the top.
  8. Trim an inch from three jumbo craft sticks to form the door, trimming the rounded ends from two regular craft sticks and trim them to length across the three jumbo craft sticks to form the door supports.
  9. Glue the jumbo craft sticks to the door supports and then glue the assembled door to the front of the house.
  10. Glue a regular craft stick about an inch and a half horizontally over top of the door to form a ledge, then gluing two mini craft sticks together will form the sign for over the top of the door.
